Cherie Mumper Patterson Memorial Fun Walk/Run Raises Money for Student Scholarships

Dozens of people running on city streets

Cosmopolis Superintendent Cherie Mumper Patterson died unexpectedly of lung cancer last April. Her passion for her students and the Cosmopolis community lives on.

This September, the Cherie Mumper Patterson Memorial Fun Walk/Run was held in her honor. Proceeds from the event went to the Cherie Mumper Patterson Scholarship. The first memorial scholarship will be awarded in 2022 to a graduating senior who attended Cosmopolis Elementary.
