Description

Elementary teachers will experience authentic integration of the Washington State standards for English Language Arts and Science with hands-on and engaging investigations and discussions that help students acquire information more effectively. Science texts offer numerous opportunities to expand student background knowledge and vocabulary so students can make the connections between the ELA and Science practices.

Participants will attend an initial face-to-face Kickoff, followed by a series of one-hour Zoom check-ins, and then conclude with a face-to-face Symposium.
