Program Features
Educational Service District 113 is partnering with Girls Who Code to offer no-cost computer science resources to our community! We encourage you to sign up to start a free Girls Who Code Club for 3-5th or 6-12th graders.
- Tons of Curriculum, Training, and Support – All for FREE, No Code Experience Needed: You’ll get access to everything you need to facilitate your Club — including training, comprehensive resources to minimize prep time, and 120+ hours of easy-to-use and flexible coding curriculum. You do NOT need any prior coding experience due to Girls Who Code’s supportive resources.
- Project-based Coding Curriculum with a Social-Emotional Learning & Activism Focus: The 6-12th grade curriculum features self-guided coding tutorials for all skill levels, inspiring female role models in tech, community-building activities to increase confidence, and project-based learning related to activism. The 3-5th grade curriculum is run as a book club-type model based on GWC’s NY Times Bestseller, Learn to Code and Change the World.
- Free Swag and a $500 Amazon Wishlist: Start your Club during the academic year and receive a t-shirt, notebook, and sticker for each member of your Club PLUS can have a $500 Amazon Wishlist fulfilled by GWC once you have 3+ students enrolled!
Note: the deadline to claim the $500 Amazon Wishlist is March 31, 2023. - Girls-Supportive, Yet Gender-Inclusive Environment: Students of all genders are welcome to join this girls-supportive environment.
