Join Pacific Education Institute (PEI) and our ClimeTime partners to take a deep dive into the ecology of coastal wetlands, focusing on the South Sound region. Participants will learn about the Solutions Oriented Learning Storyline format, designed around six guiding principles: Indigenous perspectives, local anchoring phenomena, culturally responsive instructional practices, NGSS three-dimensional student growth measures, and a solutions-oriented approach to addressing coastal hazards, and opportunities to elevate student voices in their communities.
This in-person opportunity will be held at the Billy Frank Jr. Nisqually Wildlife Refuge in Olympia.* This opportunity is for formal K-12 educators from the following schools and districts:
- Steilacoom, Bethel, Clover Park, Wa He Lut Indian School
- Plus all school districts in the ESD 113 region

Cost: Free
Participants who attend the entire session will receive:
- 6 Washington State approved STEM Clock Hours
- The opportunity to earn a $200 implementation stipend
*Additional location details to follow via email. We recommend bringing a sack lunch, as only 30 minutes will be provided for lunch.
