ESD 113 and WASA are excited to partner to bring you a variety of regional and statewide opportunities!

Women+ in Leadership (WIL+) is a network for people identifying as women, nonbinary, and/or genderfluid who aspire to educational leadership positions. WIL+ focuses on enhancing the capacity of aspiring and veteran leaders to support one another and increasing the number of women+ thriving in leadership positions.

We are kicking off this series with the Women+ in Leadership Lunch and Learn. This is a hybrid launch event on December 12 at noon. We will tune into the state Women in Leadership webinar and then discuss and reflect. Join us in person for a free meal or over Zoom from wherever you are.

Who can join? This network of individuals is for people identifying as women, nonbinary, and/or genderfluid who experience the challenges that accompany these identities. More specifically, the network welcomes those who are in or aspire to leader positions, including the principalship, assistant/vice principalship, coach, mentor, director, and superintendent roles.

Kamrica Ary-Turner

Kamrica Ary-Turner is a highly experienced educator and a passionate advocate for education reform and social justice. Her extensive career, spanning over 15 years, has been marked by a strong commitment to the betterment of the education system. She began her journey in education in secondary schools, where she initially served as a Discipline Specialist and later as a School Counselor. Over time, she quickly assumed a leadership role as a School Administrator. For the last decade, she dedicated her efforts to making a significant impact as an administrator in the Puget Sound Region.

Throughout her professional journey, Kamrica’s unwavering commitment to the holistic development of students has been evident. She advocates for the “whole child” and works tirelessly to ensure that students receive a comprehensive education. Her passion for justice, diversity, equity, inclusion and fostering meaningful community partnerships has been a central focus of her educational endeavors.

In July 2022, Kamrica Ary-Turner took on a crucial role at the Association of Washington School Principals (AWSP). In this capacity, she has leveraged her wealth of experience and unwavering dedication to drive positive change in the field of education. She is the creator of the Leaders of Color Network, the Dear Sista Affinity group, and is forging to lead the first Leaders of Color Conference in the state. She has collaborated with OSPI and Hatching Results to provide best practices for the Comprehensive School Counseling Program. Through her work at AWSP, Kamrica continues to work towards creating inclusive and empowering learning environments that benefit all leaders. Her overarching mission is to foster a fair, equitable, true and authentic educational system that benefits all students.
