Deputy Superintendent Cal Brodie Honored at Retirement Party

For over 30 years, Cal Brodie served the state through his work in finance and education for three different organizations. On October 31, he was given the sendoff that those decades of service warranted.

Brodie’s work across the Washington State Auditor’s Office, Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction, and ESD 113 were all celebrated by friends, family, and coworkers alike. There were treats, there were kind words, there were tears, and there was plenty of laughter and fanfare.

Many attendees spoke gleefully about their time working with Brodie. The theme throughout the party was just how many careers he influenced, how many bonds he formed with his colleagues, and how appreciative they were of him.

It was a heartfelt ending to this chapter for Brodie as he moves on to the next.
