ESD 113 has named Brianne (Bri) Knighton as senior director of Expedition Behavioral Education. Bri comes to the role after serving as director of Pathfinder Services at Expedition and brings years of experience as a special education administrator and Board Certified Behavior Analyst.

In this role, she will lead three programs: Olympic Academy, Summit Academy, and Pathfinder Services. These programs serve students through trauma-informed, student-centered practices rooted in trust, care, and belonging, and partner closely with families and school districts to help students thrive in school and in their communities.

“Bri is the right person to lead Expedition Behavioral Education forward while continuing to honor the core values that define our work,” said Steve Bigelow, Executive Director for Integrated Student Support. “Bri brings extensive behavioral expertise, strong partnerships with districts, and a clear understanding of how to build systems that truly serve students and support staff.”

Bri will guide program vision and operations, support staff growth, and collaborate with school districts and community partners to keep services responsive to student and district needs and grounded in best practice.

“I’m excited to step into this role,” Bri said. “The work our teams do at Summit Academy, Olympic Academy, and Pathfinder Services makes a real difference for students. I look forward to building on that work and continuing to deliver high-quality support to the students, families, and districts we serve.”

Expedition Behavioral Education provides individualized, trauma-informed education, behavior, and transition services for students with complex needs. Using evidence-based practices, the program centers collaboration, safety, and compassion to help students build self-regulation, problem-solving, communication, and academic skills that support long-term success in school and beyond.
