ESD 113 Communications Team Receives National Recognition

A gold trophy laid flat with star glitter all around.

The ESD 113 Communications Team received 16 Publications and Digital Media Excellence awards from the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA)'s National School Communication Awards Program across eight categories.

“The work of our dedicated Communications Team can be seen online and in districts across our region,” ESD 113 Superintendent Flip Herndon said. “They genuinely care about the success of our schools and programs while maintaining a high level of professionalism. It shows in everything they produce.”

The partnerships between ESD 113’s Communications Team and the programs, school districts, and state and regional education partners we serve represents the best in collaborative communication for the good of educational communities.

About ESD 113 and the Communications Team

The purpose of ESD 113 is to ensure excellent and equitable education for all students through service and collaboration. Led by Superintendent Dr. Flip Herndon, we provide services for 44 school districts, one tribal compact school, and approved private schools in Thurston, Mason, Lewis, Grays Harbor, and Pacific counties.

The Communications Team partners with internal ESD departments and local, regional, and state education agencies to help them achieve their goals through strategic communication. We define success by our clients’ results: increased community engagement, stronger trust with families, and clearer connections between schools and the people they serve. We deliver outcomes through strategic messaging, digital accessibility, graphic design, marketing, photography, social media management, Spanish translation, videography, website design, and writing.
