The OSPI and AESD Fellows’ Network Supports Navigating Revised Learning Standards

Back-to-school season means diving back into learning standards and curriculum, and this year, school leaders and educators are beginning to explore a new set of revised learning standards in English language arts and math, with new science standards not far behind. While tackling these transitions can be daunting, meaningful support is available.

The Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) and Association of Educational Service Districts (AESD) Fellows’ Network supports the implementation of state learning standards in English language arts, mathematics, and science; develops teacher leadership; promotes educational equity; and connects subject matter experts. It’s about collaboration, growth, and developing a deeper understanding alongside educators like you.

Each subject-matter network meets in person four times each year, often testing standards-aligned experiments, workshops, and activities that can be taken directly back to schools and classrooms to share with colleagues.

For superintendents and school leaders, this means participants in the Fellows’  Network can directly support you and your learning community as teachers become familiar with the new standards, have questions, or want to dive deeper into the work.

For teachers, this is an opportunity to step into teacher leadership and serve as an information powerhouse for your teams. Your knowledge will be invaluable.

The deadline to apply for the OSPI and AESD Fellows’ Network is October 30. We encourage English language arts, math, and science teachers, as well as other instructional leaders such as administrators, teacher and learning directors, teachers on special assignment, and more, to join.
