Nurses Celebrate Win at Capitol!

Three School Nurse Corps members standing with Washington Governor Bob Ferguson.

Nurses from ESD 113's School Nurse Corps were recently invited to the Capitol to celebrate the signing of HB 2360. This bill allows schools to stock and administer albuterol in an emergency, even if the student does not have a prescription

Our nurses were excited to meet with Governor Ferguson and secure this support for our region's students. This bill allows schools to stock and administer albuterol in emergency situations when nurses deem necessary, even if the student does not have a prescription. Many students are unaware of their asthma until their first attack. Being able to quickly administer medicine that will get students breathing again is key!
