Youth Reengagement - Gravity

ESD 113's Gravity program creates pathways and opportunity for young people who have left school before graduation. As part of the Open Doors Youth Reengagement system, Gravity works with school districts across our region to help these students find their way back to educational success. The program welcomes students ages 16–20 any time during the year. With campuses in Chehalis, Hawks Prairie, Hoquiam, Lacey, and Olympia, and a district campus in Yelm, Gravity meets students where they are—both geographically and academically.

Students get personalized instruction in math, reading, science, and social studies, plus one-on-one tutoring and daily office hours with teachers. The program removes financial barriers by covering testing fees for students who show up and complete pretests.

Gravity goes beyond academics to address student needs related to transportation help, emergency food, housing support, clothing, placement tests, and certification classes. Additionally, for students who have completed their GED, Gravity’s GED+ pathways connect them with career and college opportunities that help them move toward their individual career and academic goals.
