Fellows' Network
The Fellows' Network brings together instructional leaders from across Washington. Fellows support school districts and communities as they implement state learning standards in English language arts, mathematics, and science. These instructional leaders meet four times per year. They commit to content learning, instructional leadership, and educational justice for every student in every learning environment.
Teachers connect with content experts and skilled educators through this three-year program. The program goes beyond one-day workshops. Regional coordinators bring years of knowledge to help their region and students. Apply year-round—new groups start each fall.
Participants join a regional and statewide network of committed educators. These connections strengthen leadership skills and improve teaching. Teachers build relationships that create greater impact for students and school communities. The program creates clear paths to leadership roles. It helps teachers gain skills that advance careers in education.
Teachers can apply to become a Literacy, Math, or Science Fellow. Fellows learn to support the rollout of revised learning standards. They become a resource for colleagues as schools put new standards in place. They work with ESD Content Coordinators and OSPI Content Specialists to learn revised Washington State Learning Standards.
Teachers return with practical tools and fresh ideas. These benefit entire educational communities. Schools benefit from in-house experts who understand both standards and local needs. When administrators support teachers in becoming Fellows, they invest in positive changes throughout their school community.
