To be eligible to borrow our robots, you must: 

• Work at a public school within the ESD 113 region and intend to use the robots at that school
• Complete the one-hour online training
• Submit the sign-out form
• Review our borrowing guidelines and FAQs

• Our kits are available on a first-come, first-served basis, but we're committed to working closely with each district to ensure they have access to the resources that best fit their educational goals.
• ESD 113 owns, maintains, and refurbishes these kits.
• The standard loan period is eight weeks. Each district's needs may vary. We're happy to discuss loan periods to best accommodate your specific requirements.
• For self-checkout and pick-up, kits are to be picked up and returned to ESD 113 at 6005 Tyee Dr SW in Tumwater by the borrower or designated alternate pick-up person.
• To request and arrange for delivery of the robots, please fill out the contact form on this page, and our staff will help.
• Accessories and materials must be returned with the kits. These materials are checked for quality every time the kit is returned to ESD 113.
• Consumable materials are not expected to be replaced. ESD 113 will clean, replace, and check for missing materials when the kit comes back to us.

How do I request robots?
To request robots, complete the sign-out form. You can also start the online training to familiarize yourself with the robots.

When can I apply for a robot?
We accept requests for robots throughout the school year. If you are interested in borrowing a robot over the summer, please reach out for more information.

How many robots can I borrow?
Up to 2 classroom sets at a time (numbers vary depending on each robot).

How much does it cost to borrow robots?
Nothing—there is no cost associated with borrowing robot kits.

What device/hardware do I need to use the robots?
All of our robots can be programmed without a screen or computer. However, each robot type offers an online/app platform that can enhance the teaching and learning experience.

Can a group of teachers apply together?
Yes—we ask that one person take the lead in managing the sign-out form and coordinating the delivery and pick-up arrangements.

Can I loan the robots to library patrons or to my students for use at home?
No—the intention is for teachers to guide students through lessons in a classroom or other school setting. This ensures that the robots are used effectively in an educational environment.

I have already participated in the loan program. Can I apply again?
Yes, you can apply again. While we may prioritize new borrowers in some cases, we welcome you to explore the available robot options one by one.

What happens if robots or materials are lost or broken?
We will work with you to address the situation. We may talk to you about replacement or repair options, and we will provide guidance on the next steps.
